Now, there are a few things we take seriously, and donuts are one of them. Donuts are a great way to bond with the kids, they can decorate them as they please. While delicious, they are also a creative dessert perfect for any holiday function. We found a fantastic mix of classic and creative recipes perfect for everyone. Even the most sophisticated pallets will go (do)nuts over these!

1. Pumpkin Donuts

Rolled in cinnamon sugar, we can’t deny this perfect sweet n’ spicy autumn treat. The kids will go crazy for these bad boys! Even better? They’re a perfect for the entire family this Thanksgiving!

  • 2 cups all-purpose or white whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin

  • 2 cups soymilk (I used light vanilla)
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup or agave*

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 shot quality espresso or strong coffee (2-3 T)

  • Sea Salt Flakes or Kosher Salt (Maldon’s Sea Salt is excellent for this use)
