The Best 7 Black Friday Deals of 2011

This year’s Black Friday is fast approaching, but before we dive into the brouhaha of Black Friday 2012, let’s look back at last year’s day of days and see which stores had the most enticing BF offerings!

Build-A-Bears usually starts a $5 for the basic bear, and even clothing one modestly can bring the total up to around $45. On Black Friday weekend, Build-A-Bear offered two cute moose characters for $5 each alone, or $10 each fully clothed. It was a huge saving!

JC Penny

Doorbusters is right! Last Black Friday JC Penny got it’s foot in the door early by offering its entire range of boots for the amazingly low price of $29.99.  Bear in mind, there were over 100 choices of boots, so $29.99 was real walkin’ around money.

Cashback offers are pretty common nowadays in supermarkets and pharmacies alike, but Kohl’s 2011 Black Friday offer of $15 Kohl’s Cash for every $50 spend with no spend limit really kicked things up a notch! The lack of a limit on how much cashback you could earn allowed customers to really stock up on those nonperishable items, all the while reaping the benefits.

Petsmart’s 2011 Black Friday offering was a nearly store-wide 50% off sale that included several hundred items. With winter setting in, yours truly used the opportunity to buy some winter clothing for a certain shivering, four-legged friend!

Walmart’s 2011 Black Friday campaign was centered around Samsung TVs offered at an astonishingly low price. $98 for a 19″ 720p television?! Excuse me, I’ll just be curled up in bed watching Project Runway…

Yankee Candle

Yankee Candle burned it up last year by offering a Buy 2 get 2 Free deal on all of its large jar candles. Yankees are the best candles out there and it was a deal that was nearly impossible to resist. Just don’t light the Christmas Cookie scented candle if you’re on a diet. It makes things…difficult.

If diamonds are a girl’s best friend, then heavily discounted diamonds must be a girl’s best best friend. On last year’s Black Friday, Zale’s had a 15% discount storewide. Considering that some items had already been marked down up to 60%, a diamond in the rough wasn’t too hard to find at all.
